I have succeeded to download this movie of my adolescence with much pleasure.I have done it with MPEG4. As I had problems with writing it on a DVD, I tried DviX. Then I could only download a half of the movie. Many Thanks anyway.

This Copy is Missing the Ending.
What? Nothing about Elizabeth Taylor's over dramatization? This movie was one of those tear jerking sob stories that, as you stated, does play more like a soap opera. Personally, I think that it's melodramatic essence makes it perfect for anyone who is in the mood for mental issues.
For example, I became a bit riled when the child's aunt wanted to tear the girl away from her father, trying her best in a legal custody battle simply because she had a personal ax to grind against him for marrying her sister instead of her.
It so reminded me of some of the craziness that goes on in families today, where children are made to be the pawn in custody disputes, not realizing or maybe even caring about the damage that does to the child.
I'd love to get into the rain scene, but I don't want to spoil the movie. People should watch that and judge for themselves whether the rain could really have that kind of an affect on a woman.
It's so much fun to pick out the nonsensical parts of this film, I think it's melodramatic and certainly appealing to any crowd that likes soap operas. It's certainly not a story that one can take seriously, especially in this day and age.
It's a film that was obviously geared more towards the female psyche than the male psyche of that time period, and that's all I'd better say about that! lol!

This movie and it's horrible plot add up to one miserably long soap opera. Van Johnson comes off as a whiney, sniveling wimp. I wouldn't recommend this to my worst enemy. Well maybe, if I was in a bad mood.
